Van tries to be a man of integrity and as such will not drive around in a car with bird on it. He does not mind dirt. God made dirt. But bird is undignified. A conventional car cover is a pain in the neck. Those anti-bird balls do not work. For months he conceived a custom parachute cover as he fell asleep at night. 20 minutes to wash. 1 minute 45 seconds to deploy the chute. 5 minutes 23 seconds to furl and stow.
